First complete crossing of the Penny Icecap worldwide - 2009
On May 2, José Naranjo, director of Mundo Arctic and German based in Spain, Ingrid Ortlieb finalized the first worldwide crossing of the Penny polar ice cap. The route that the expeditionaries made was the longest possible. This large ice mass of more than 6,000 square kilometers located on the island of Baffin in Canada.
